THRACO-MACEDONIAN TRIBES, Orreskioi. Circa 480-465 BC. Diobol (Silver, 10 mm, 1.14 g). Bull kneeling to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with pellet in center. HGC 3.1, 319. SNG Copenhagen 251. SNG Fitzwilliam 1244 ('Acanthus'). SNG Lockett 1274 ('Derrones'). Svoronos, HPM 10 and pl. V, 12. Very rare and in exceptional condition for the issue, a sharply struck example with a wonderful depiction of a kneeling bull. Slightly rough and with light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
